The Kiwanis Club of Myrtle Beach donated an Inchy’s Bookworm Vending Machine to Palmetto Bays Elementary School! The book vending machine is a creative approach to get kids excited about reading. Students earn gold tokens for achievements. Then they use the token to vend a brand new book. The Kiwanis Club, Staff and Students are positive this initiative will leave a lasting impact on the school.

Making it Possible with Grants from the Kiwanis Club

This generous initiative was made possible through a grant from Kiwanis International and the Kiwanis District Foundation. The grant specifically focuses on supporting “Title One” schools in the Myrtle Beach area. This emphasizes the Kiwanis commitment to literacy in underserved communities.

A Love for Learning and Community

Henrietta Gardner, a representative from the Kiwanis Club of Myrtle Beach, expressed the significance of this donation. “Instilling the love of learning and reading worldwide is very important for us at Kiwanis. We love the kids. Everything is about the kids. So, we just love to get out in the community, be with them, and show them that the community cares.”

Incentives for Lifelong Achievement

Inchy’s Bookworm Vending Machine provides children with the opportunity to build their home libraries. This personal reward approach aims to make reading a lifelong achievement. For kids, it fosters a culture of literacy that goes beyond the classroom.

The Kiwanis Club of Myrtle Beach continues to build a brighter future for their community. By promoting education and a love for learning, they are making a lasting impact on the lives of young readers at Palmetto Bays Elementary School.
